The London Chronicles

“Is this love?” is an urban love story set in a multicultural London of 2035. 


Skye is the son of 4th generation Jamaican immigrants. He is a slightly awkward teen, an outsider, but not in a cool way. When he is unexpectedly paired with the gorgeous Kimala for a school project, his world changes dramatically  as he discovers feelings he has never experienced before. 


Kimala is the principal soprano in the school choir, but is also an outsider in her own way. She is of mixed race parentage; her mother a Swedish model and her father a South African bartender. When her father is killed in a racist attack in East London, she becomes isolated and withdrawn. The repercussions from the tragedy drive her to seek a connection with someone who can help her to understand the pain she is feeling and begin her journey back to life. 


The theme of new love is counterpointed by elements of modern black music and history which inform both the key characters and the reader as they begin their life journey into a complex and sometimes frightening new world.


The trilogy is set against a backdrop of a technologically advanced society, but one which is also suffering from the increasing threat of inner city violence and the devastating effects of global warming.

The story is essentially one of love and hope.
