The Long, Dark Night

After waking up from the long sleep, Ben discovers he is now the leader of survivors of Earth. However, the records tell him that some humans managed to escape. What happened to them? What was going on up on the surface of the planet they knew as Earth? How will humanity survive deep underground if the surface is occupied by enemies?
