Publisher Description

Failure is something we have all experienced. We have also watched the public failures of people that resulted in many lives being affected. It is painful to watch someones life as their career, family, and finances go to shambles because of their poor choices. It is even more painful to experience all that personally.

There are consequences to every choice we make. Failure can be devastating. The losses seem almost impossible to overcome. But nothing could be further from the truth. There is a path back to success and fulfillment. The question is, will we take it?

This book will carry you on one mans journey to the depths of failure and back to healing and fulfillment. It was a long walk back, but it was worth every step.

What an amazing story of redemption!

Having known Stephen Mizell for almost 30 years, I knew most of his life's story, but I wasn't able to put down "The Long Walk Back" after I started reading it. Having been raised in church all of his life, Stephen's story isn't that different from most of us raised in the church, however his transparency allows the reader to see that even those raised around the house of God can still wander from its teachings.

Yet regardless of the mistakes of sin, this story is about God's redemptive power and despite how far you might fall, He is always willing to chase after you. Stephen's story is filled with pain and detours in life, but the greatest part of this journey is the path that God has led him towards and Stephen's desire to seek out his purpose!

Stephen is an effective leader who is gifted in many areas and this story is surely going to encourage those who may have fallen or wandered off point wondering if God might ever be able to use them again. The truth of the matter is not only can God still use you, but that He may take you higher and further than you ever dreamed! This is an exciting time watching the life of Stephen Mizell from a distance. Just as the scripture says in Deuteronomy 28:2, " All these blessings will come down on you and spread out beyond you because you have responded to the Voice of God, your God:" (Msg)
