The Lord of Lost Causes
Struggling to support her family after her husband's death, Caroline Harding attracts the attention of the ruthless Captain Francis Grafton who offers her a devil's bargain to pay back her debts to him. Outwitting her enigmatic employer and unwillingly gaining his approval significantly changes her life for the better, but can she win his loyalty and his heart when he appears to care for nothing but profit?
First time reading this type of this authors writing. I was a little disappointed and prefer her Western style of writing better.
Of course this book was set during a different time in our history when women were treated with little to no respect. Though the heroine in this book tried
to be strong and independent life just gave her a different path to follow.
The lord of lost causes
I enjoyed this book as I read it in three days. I do wish she would’ve continued on just a little bit instead of stopping where it did.
Interesting historical novel. I enjoyed the story and the characters. I am amazed at the few rights women had back then.
