Publisher Description
Bridging the past and present in three time periods—the French Revolution, World War II, and present day—The Lost Castle is an enchanting, interwoven story of three resilient women connected by a storybook castle that stands witness to their lives.
1789: Aveline Saint-Moreau is a wealthy and beautiful young aristocrat preparing for her betrothal to the Duc et Vivay’s heir Philippe, but the French Revolution looms as the Bastille is stormed in Paris.
1944: Viola Hart is a Resistance fighter in France during World War II, desperately trying to root out the evil taking hold in her country as the Nazis occupy France.
Present day: Ellie Carver is in a race against time to deliver a decades-overdue message as her grandmother fades into the shadows of Alzheimer’s. Embarking on a journey to France’s Loire Valley, Ellie can only hope to unearth the secrets of the mysterious castle before time silences them forever.
As Ellie’s journey unfolds, so too do the journeys of the two other women, each of their stories woven together through their connection with the forgotten French castle—a castle that plays a part in saving each one of them.
With tales of loves won and lost, battles waged in the hearts of men, and a legacy of faith spanning generations, The Lost Castle is a sweeping story of three strong women making history.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Cambron (The Ringmaster's Wife) once again makes smart use of multiple eras in her latest time-jumping romance. Ellie Carver travels to present-day France from Michigan after her grandmother, Vi, gives her cryptic messages about a medieval castle during a dementia-ridden bedside conversation. Armed with nothing more than an old photo and a reference to the "Sleeping Beauty" castle, Ellie engages Quinn Foley to guide her through the Loire Valley. Cambron entwines Ellie's quest, Vi's memories, and the story of Aveline Sainte-Moreau, a daughter of the privileged class engaged to the son of the Duc et Vivay, who owns the castle in the late 18th century. Aveline's formal introduction is interrupted by an insurrection on the castle grounds. Intrigue and wartime espionage create a vivid backdrop to a narrative that carefully details the toll of tyranny and the price of revolution. Vi's WWII resistance romance, however, lacks the flair and attention to detail of Aveline's and Ellie's stories. Cambron spins tales of resiliency, compassion, and courage, but the story ends up being more about the history of a region than the the characters, and the faith elements are light.

The Lost Castle
I loved this story because it was steeped in historical events. Reading about all they went through to give us the freedom we enjoy today is always so inspiring.
Amazing Book!
Kristy Cambron does such an amazing job writing characters that come to life and creating beautiful settings that make me feel like I am there. France has a special place in my heart and seeing it in three different time periods makes me want to visit again and again. This book is absolutely amazing and a must read. I totally recommend this book for every woman of every age, I will definitely be rereading it and buying it for my friends! I love all of her other books as well but this one tops the list!
