The Love Position

I received a digital ARC of this book. This is book 4 in the Foxbrooke series, and could technically be read as a stand alone… however, the main characters and side characters are in the former books so it would provide some background. I have loved all the previous Foxbrooke stories, and was eagerly awaiting this one! Sophia has been with the same man for 10 years. She decides to leave a conference early and surprise him for his birthday. When she arrives to their home, she is the one who finds a surprise, and not the good kind. (no spoilers, but if you are a woman, you will want his character to get what's coming to him!) Her bff talks her into going to a yoga class to help with the stress of her life. When she walks in and sees the yoga instructor, Isaac, there is a cosmic connection on her end, but he ignores her the entire class so she figures it is one sided. Isaac sees Sophia walk in and has a cosmic connection as well, however, he has vowed a life of celibacy, so he must keep reminding himself of that. As you turn the pages and read of Sophia and Isaac's lives, you will be routing for them to find their way to each other. This story will take you on quite the roller coaster ride, kinda like a spicy Hallmark movie, but you won't want to stop reading. Triggers: drugs, unwanted sexual advances, men of power taking advantage of women, spicy sex scenes. There is a full content warning in the front of the book.

Evie Alexander does it again. This time with Sophia Hunter-Savage and the hot yoga teacher who has taken a vow of celibacy. This book is for sure to be a fantastic summer beach read, with most of the book taking place in the British Virgin Islands. Yoga is a huge part of this book, helping Sophia deal with her anxiety and control her breathing, which is very well done in this book. We still see some of the OG players from past books, since this book starts about halfway through the Upper Crush. We get a fun scene with Estelle in the beginning, and Evelyn is Isaac’s knowledgeable sage, offering the perfect bit of advice for his predicament. And on brand, we get funny quippy one liners like douche-barge, mixed in with some big experiences and life lessons. This book does have some trigger warnings regarding a non consensual sexual encounter and drug use, and takes on some heavy experiences like what happens when the people we love are put on a pedestal. And as always, the spicy scenes are just so perfectly written and appropriately placed. I can’t wait for the next Foxbrooke installment.

I absolutely loved this book. This book gave me exactly what I wanted in the last book with Sophia. She goes through her own journey of self discovery and is allowed to shine as her own person. Isaac is a great love interest for Sophia, he understands her needs and can be there for her when she needs him.
