The Maeblec's Apprentice

'Maeblec' is an old word in our language.

It translates roughly to 'A Woman Who Knows Things.'

What it means is 'Witch.'

Elowynn has no plan when she flees to the cottage of the maeblec Rune. She talks her way into an apprenticeship, hoping to evade the arranged marriage that would cage her forever. If she can discover her magic and win the trust of a familiar, she can forge her own destiny … even if the continued attentions of her fiancé make it hard to remain dedicated to a life of independence.

But learning to be a maeblec comes at a cost. People are falling ill, and all evidence points to Rune. As suspicion turns to accusation, Elowynn must choose between the life she fled, the man she didn't expect to love, and the magic that is finally becoming her own.

The Maeblec's Apprentice begins The Moonblood Cycle: a new adult witchy romantic fantasy trilogy featuring nature magic, animal familiars, and a slow-burn romance. Perfect for fans of Juliet Marillier, Patricia McKillip, and Naomi Novik.
