The Mage's Apprentice

Alain Caradas is resigned to working as a blacksmith's apprentice, but when Queen Lysea's guard captain shows up at Alain's home, everything changes. Conscripted into the army, he finally has the chance to be someone. Along the way, he makes many friends, including the mage Lucien. Adventures, horror, and even romance await Alain as he explores his own magical heritage in service to his queen.
