The Magic Carrousel Horse

The Magic Carrousel Horse captures the imagination of readers when Kari Lee and her Grandfather go on a long awaited visit to the downtown carrousel.  The visit opens Kari Lee’s imagination as the plain wooden horse transforms into all of the characters in her imagination.  Grandpa watches the joy she gets all day long riding and becoming a new character with each ride.  Grandpa’s old friend the plain wooden, but magical carrousel horse displays the love the woodcarver had put into his work.  A fun story and good reminder of the simple childhood joys that don’t necessarily end. 


Rickert Johansson can find anyone’s talent and gifts and draw it out of them like no other.  He always points out the positive in everything, from stories to life.  He makes magic!  This story was told to his children and written down in 1989.  He collaborated with his sister Lynda Johansson to create the illustrations in 1989.  Twenty five years later the book not forgotten, but tucked away for safe keeping was revived by Rickert and his daughter Kari Lee.  


2014 marks the 25th Anniversary these joyful stories that have been a part of our family’s life. Join us as we finally share them with your family.
