At the center of the book is Deep Brain Sound Stimulation (DBSS) — an experimental, non-invasive approach using precisely structured sound to investigate whether specific neural systems can be addressed through the brain’s own timing and sensory pathways. Rather than imposing beliefs or overriding choice, the idea is to ask whether dormant capacities might be supported from within.

The book follows that question from neuroscience into something much larger: the possibility that moral drift may not mean moral capacity has disappeared.
