The Man in the Brown Suit

The Man in the Brown Suit is Agatha Christie at her best. The protagonist of the story, the beautiful young Anne Beddingfeld, goes to London for adventures and finds them in the most ordinary place possible: Hyde Park Corner tube station. She sees a man die after being unbalanced and falling on the tracks, dying electrocuted. Then she finds a piece of paper left nearby with a cryptic message.

The Scotland Yard verdict is accidental death. But Anne is not satisfied. After all, who was the man in the brown suit who examined the body? And why did he race off, leaving a cryptic message behind: "17-122 Kilmorden Castle"?
