Publisher Description

In the first book of a multibook series, find out how a round, jolly baby became the great white hope of the Milky Way—and ringleader of the Guardians of Childhood.

Up there in the sky.
Don’t you see him?
No, not the moon.
The Man in the Moon.

He wasn’t always a man.
Nor was he always on the moon.

He was once a child.
Like you.

Until a battle,
a shooting star,
and a lost balloon
sent him on a quest.

Meet the very first guardian of childhood.
MiM, the Man in the Moon.

Great start to the stories of The Guardians of Childhood. It was very entertaining and captivated the attention of my 6 and 7 year olds. They love the story.

    Wonderful!

William Joyce is by far a genius in storytelling and in art. I just re-discovered him a few months back after watching Rise of the Guardians in theaters and to me it helped me awaken my childhood again. I use to watch Rollie Pollie Ollie as a kid and read the book about the dinosaur that played baseball and George Shrinks (can't remember the title of the Dino book that well). All of them were fun and wonderful to read. I feel sad that I didn't remember all of the precious memories until the movie came out. But thanks to that great film I got to look back at Joyce and see his works again and this book is terrific proof of how great of a storyteller he is. I think people of all ages can love this book for the clever writing and beautiful illustrations each page holds. I never get bored re-reading it so I don't think you will either.

    Nice for anyone

I'm a teen and I was really curious about the story so I bought it and I felt like a little kid again I love it.
