Fiona Marwick, a young widow, acquires an unexpected houseguest when the Marquess of Carinbrooke takes a tumble on the cliff near her home. Their attraction grows during his lordship's enforced convalescence from a broken leg, but complications arise when the marquess' sister arrives, with news of a supposed fiancée. And in the meantime, the dastardly Sir Irwin Ampthill has other plans for Fiona—and her land. Regency Romance by Amy Lake; originally published by Belgrave House/Regency Reads
I enjoyed this story very much. I especially liked that the final chapter included what happened after they were married and what happened to the other characters. So many happy endings are not realistic, of course, but these types of stories are for a bit of escapism, after all.
