Insipid characters
Don't waste your time. Emma Tarrant is a character of little depth that few readers will relate too and most shall just find incredibly annoying. As she stumbles to fix everything on her own with out asking for help while making idiotic and illogical assumptions, Emma becomes more insipid as the novel nears its conclusion. This is the 3rd book I've read by Ashford and frankly, the characters are all the same while the scrapes are equally unoriginal as the witless women all seem to fall prey to monetary blackmail and cannot own up to their mistakes to ask their husband for help. I am done with Jane Ashford.
