A New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestseller

“This character-driven romance will enthrall [Rivers’s] many fans.” —Library Journal

The New York Times
bestselling author of Redeeming Love returns to her romance roots with this unexpected and redemptive love story, a probing tale that reminds us that mercy can shape even the most broken among us into an imperfect yet stunning masterpiece.

A successful LA artist, Roman Velasco appears to have everything he could possibly want—money, women, fame. Only Grace Moore, his reluctant, newly hired personal assistant, knows how little he truly has. The demons of Roman’s past seem to echo through the halls of his empty mansion and out across his breathtaking Topanga Canyon view. But Grace doesn’t know how her boss secretly wrestles with those demons: by tagging buildings as the Bird, a notorious but unidentified graffiti artist—an alter ego that could destroy his career and land him in prison.

Like Roman, Grace is wrestling with ghosts and secrets of her own. After a disastrous marriage threw her life completely off course, she vowed never to let love steal her dreams again. But as she gets to know the enigmatic man behind the reputation, it’s as if the jagged pieces of both of their pasts slowly begin to fit together . . . until something so unexpected happens that it changes the course of their relationship—and both their lives—forever.

“Rivers deftly threads Roman’s and Grace’s lives together as they tiptoe around their emotional scars, eventually shifting into a dance of tentative steps toward a love neither can resist. Fans of Christian romance will delight in this tale of salvation through love.”
Kirkus Reviews

“Richly detailed characters with traumatic pasts are woven together with biblical truths and redemptive themes. . . . This is an amazing, beautifully written tale to be savored and pondered and shared with others.”
Romantic Times

“Readers will marvel at Rivers’s storytelling arc encompassing the reconciliation of gritty past misdeeds and the work in progress of a life of forgiveness.”

“Fans of Francine Rivers will eagerly devour The Masterpiece and find exactly what they are looking for: a beautifully written story of faith, romance, and the power that true freedom can bring.”

Two broken people made whole through Christ!

The story of two broken people, Roman & Grace is a similar story to many of God’s people. Francine truly brings a hope and allows the reader to feel empathy for the life Roman was exposed to. Grace who strives to be obedient but is taken over at times by temptation is definitely relatable. We simply are not perfect people. With our love for Christ, our striving to hear from and being obedient to the Holy Spirit; He can begin to change us from the inside out (no matter where God pulled us out from). I absolutely love Grace’s friends and how Francis portrays them as imperfect people just trying to get through life with Christ. If you are just a sinner saved by God’s grace you will enjoy this read, and when you are finished you will have a renewed hope!

Masterpiece is a MASTERPIECE!

I love Francine Rivers books — I was originally introduced to her as an author through The Mark of the Lion series (still in my top 5 favorites)! I believe I’ve read everything she has written as a Christian writer.

I started this book late last night and finished it today — I could barely put it down!

No matter where you are on your Christian/faith walk you will get something out of everyone of her books. She introduces you to relatable, flawed — seemingly real life people and reminds you — that no matter where are it’s never to late to turn your life over and/or back to God.

For by grace you have been saved by faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are his workmanship/masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk with hm. — Ephesians 2:8-10

Never think you are too far gone — or that God cannot save you. It’s never too late — even if/when you have to turn your life over to Him each morning — he gives us free will — we have a choice.

Do yourself a favor and read this book — or read all of them.

My top 5 in alpha order:
The Atonement Child
Leota’s Garden
The Mark of The Lion Series
Marta’s Legacy Series
