Young aspiring artist, Karl Schmidt, befriends an old Italian-born, oil painter in Pittsburgh who trains him in the finer details of representational art. They develop an intimate and lifelong relationship where the young artist learns not only traditional oil painting skills but also about love.The story although not erotic in content has a couple of scenes inappropriate for anyone under 18 years of age or those wishing to avoid somewhat explicit material. College level art students could benefit nicely from reading this story.
