This book (The Metric Tensor: a technical companion) is the mathematical details behind the post from unconcisemath.com (The Metric Tensor: an illustrated introduction).  Herein you will find notes, animations, and a problem or two to supplement your own learning about The Metric Tensor (an important pre-cursor in Differential Geometry to the concept of Curvature).


This ebook represents my vision of an electronic book within a fully digital ecosystem (complete with text layers, image, and animation layers).  This ebook is intended to be an example which stands in contrast to those physical books that have simply had their text digitized.  This digital ecosystem comes at an expense of large-ish file sizes (in this case, 200mb).  Thanks for giving this ebook a chance.
