Highly Recommended
I’ve enjoy plenty of Sandra Ross’ books. All of her stories are well written and have an interesting plot that I just couldn’t let go of the book. One series that I’ve read before that I highly recommend is the ‘Ralph’s Gift’ series. In addition to that, I’ve read the first part of this series and I was immediately hooked to it. Therefore, I couldn’t wait to continue this wonderful series.
The Missing Link is about this young girl named January Morrison who has a special ability to sense and communicate with the spirits of the dead. Therefore, she decides to use this special power to help the FBI solve mystery cases. I completely envy the character January because she has no fear at all when it comes to contacting with the dead spirits. I know for sure that I would be scared if I was ever able to contact the dead.
In the 2nd part of this series, the plot further expands on the events of January’s strange and interesting life. January is an expert when it comes to contacting with the spirits of the dead, but what if the target she is looking for is still alive? Unfortunately this becomes an issue when she is having a hard time helping the FBI find the kidnapper of this person who happens to be alive. How will she deal with this situation?
Sandra Ross did a great job as usual with this series. Usually she mixes in a great balance of romance and suspense, but for this part of the series, it is leaning towards suspense more than the romance. That isn’t a problem because the suspense is what you’ll enjoy in this interesting story of January Morrison.
P.S. This book also contains a full length bonus book of another book!
unexpectedly wonderful
The Missing Link 1 had been a pretty unexpected read for me- I would never have believed that I’d be interested in reading such a novel, since I’m not usually one for ghost stories. But the book turned out to be more than a ghost story- it was a tale of a girl haunted by visions of the dead. She’s not the only one in the world of course- being able to communicate with the dead runs in the family, in her blood. But the scary thing is…she’s the only one who can actually see the dead- as a real life person, except… not real.
I found this second book just as exhilarating as the first- it had good romance scenes that would send my heart pumping with excitement and also other, scarier scenes with issues like death and kidnapping to keep my mind wanting to find out more and more. This novel is indeed pretty similar to the first, especially in the plotline and overall structure, but that didn’t make it much less enjoyable. I just kept on wanting more!
In this novel, the writer ages the main character January by making her writing style a bit more adult-like instead of the initial high-school-written feeling of the first part. I thought that this was a very nice touch- a good idea because this way, I felt as though I’ve grown along with the main character and have acquired a lot of knowledge about her personality through reading. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for some romance in a psychic/ mystery setting.
