She’s not running anymore…
After a decade away, Jacie Rose has returned with her daughter to Cherry Lake to renovate a historic hotel…and to lay some ghosts to rest. She knows she’ll have to confront mistakes she made in the past, but she didn’t expect to be living right next door to the guy she once asked to be her husband.
When Brett Jackson was approached ten years ago by Jacie Rose with the wild scheme of marrying her to help her out of a jam, his white knight instincts kicked in and he agreed to be her emergency groom. The only problem was that the bride didn’t show up for the wedding. How’s he supposed to get used to seeing the woman he’s never forgotten every day now that she’s his neighbor?
Determined to provide the secure home life for her daughter that she never had, Jacie is not about to bring a man into her life—even one that she sometimes thinks should have been there all along. But Brett and Jacie soon discover the spark between them is even stronger than before… Now that their paths have crossed again, will they lead them back to the wedding that almost was?

Cherry Lake Montana - Book 5
"The Secret Bride" by Jeannie Watt is book five in the "Cherry Lake Montana" series. This can be read as a standalone. This is Jacie Rose and Brett Jackson's story.
Ten years ago Brett had agreed to marry Jacie to help her out with a problem. Jacie didn't show and disappeared. Brett has never forgotten her. Now, Jacie is back in Cherry Lake with her daughter to renovate a historic hotel plus deal with some unfinished business.
Jacie and Brett cross paths after ten long years. As they get reacquainted one thing for sure is there is no lack of chemistry between them. Jacie is determined to give her daughter a secure home life that she didn't have. So, there is no room for a man in her life or is there?
I really enjoyed the story. At times I did get frustrated with Jacie being so afraid to take a chance on love. I loved Brett's character. He was fun, romantic, and loving.
I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing for an honest review. FYI, contains mature content.
The Montana bride
Jacie & Brett are great & you can’t blame Jacie for being protective of her daughter. A sweet romance with a HEA ending.
This novel reminded me of days gone by when my daughter loves and lived horses. Her Saturdays were spent going to horse shows along with her Grandfather and Aunt. An author's writing talent is when they can leave us with such good thoughts and feelings while and after reading their work. This novel did that for me.
