THE MOST UNDENIABLE THINGS takes us on a journey through the short life of Julia Riker, a beautiful and spirited woman with strong family ties and a lifetime friendship with the much more withdrawn Megan Berry. Through the tragedy of Julia’s early death and the life-altering struggles of her survivors, including her husband and six year-old daughter, THE MOST UNDENIABLE THINGS teaches us the importance of family and the healing power of faith. It is a tale of surrender and a lesson in survival through the experiences of the ones left behind as well as the afterlife efforts of Julia herself, who desperately tries to save her family and friends from self-destruction in the wake of her unexpected death.

When the story starts out, Julia is a young woman who still laments the loss of her beloved grandmother. Through her memories and experiences, which follow her into adulthood, we learn that Julia has been blessed with the ability to reconnect with her grandmother through the scent of her lilac perfume. These experiences provide Julia with hope that life does not end with an earthly death. This hope helps her come to terms with her grandmother’s passing and the premonition that her own life will be cut short.

When Julia’s premonition comes true and she dies suddenly a few months shy of her thirty-fourth birthday, her close knit circle of family and friends begins to crumble from the shocking tragedy. Her best friend Meg suddenly finds herself without the one person by whom she measured and defined all things, including herself, and her preoccupation with Julia’s husband and daughter quickly threatens her own marriage.

Unable to share his wife’s belief in the afterlife or in anything spiritual, Julia’s husband Brad finds himself without purpose and unable to properly care for a daughter he adores. He surrenders to his despair, unable to even speak Julia’s name, and contemplates suicide. From the spirit world, Julia must intervene to try to stop him from bringing about his own untimely death and forever altering the family’s blueprint for their journey through life.

In the end, however, the true heroines must be Julia’s six-year-old daughter, Karli, and their neighbor, Glory Simms, an elderly woman with her own tragic history and demons to conquer. Can these two save Julia’s family and friends from self-destruction? Or will they be defeated by the skepticism and hate that now festers in each survivor?
