The New Bell
Publisher Description
A literary magazine featuring ambitious new authors.
The name is an homage to Seán O’Faoláin’s ‘The Bell’, an Irish literary magazine (1940-1954) featuring artists such as Flann O’Brien, Elizabeth Bowen, Patrick Kavanagh and Frank O’Connor.
The New Bell, while maintaining liberal core, differs from The Bell’s left wing ideology.
The Bell was an outspoken liberal voice during a period of Conservative control in Ireland and it provided a critical role in moving Ireland forward.
The New Bell as a whole holds no one set of beliefs or political loyalties. The views and opinions expressed in each piece are those of the author. Our hope is to provide a space outside of one’s media bubbles, somewhere to escape from the echo chambers of our own opinions.
We are not a voice for the voiceless and we are opposed to stupidity and violence, cruelty in any form and censorship.
We challenge our readers and our contributors to look beyond their own worldview. To open their eyes and ears. To listen. Hear The New Bell.
