‘I seriously could NOT put this book down! Had me hooked from the beginning to the end… my mind was blown… kept me guessing until the very end.’ Red Head That Reads, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It was just one night away. But now my little girl is missing.

I didn’t want to leave her. But my husband insisted that a weekend away would do me good. I’ve been feeling like someone is watching me, that things in our home aren’t where I left them. He says I need a break. My sister offered to babysit my precious Mabel. She promised me that everything would be fine.

But while we’re away, the phone call comes. Mabel has been taken.

I rush home, a horrible sick feeling flooding my stomach. I climb the stairs to her nursery to find her little cot empty, our home horribly quiet..

The police are interviewing everyone, but nobody knows what happened to Mabel. My sister is distraught, my husband in pieces. But they wanted me to leave my child. How can I trust them?

Someone wants to hurt me. To punish me. Do they know what I’ve done? And how can I find the truth, and bring my darling girl home?

A truly gripping psychological thriller of manipulation and betrayal from bestselling author Jess Ryder. The Night Away will have you hooked until the final devastating revelation. Perfect for fans of The Girl on the Train or The Woman in the Window.

What everyone is saying about The Night Away:

‘I started this book late on a Friday night and stayed up until I could finish it. This book is unputdownable… The first chapter of this book is one of the creepiest things I have ever read. The Night Away has the reader doing double takes at each turn in this book. There are so many twists that I felt like I had whiplash at the end. Again, unputdownable. I loved this book.’ Goodreads Reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My Review:

Wow, what a bumpy, twisty ride that book was. I’ve read several of Jess Ryders books and this one tops the cake. She is such an amazing writer and I will continue to read all the books she writes. This was a stand alone book and not part of a series.

This book was about a baby that was taken and trying to find her. Is that all you ask? No, of course not. It really was about secrets and lots of them in order to find the missing child. Do these secrets stay hidden? No, they do not. Does any secret really stay hidden? They all come to the surface eventually?

I want to start by saying how much I enjoyed this book. I loved how the author wrote every character with a secret and when all the secrets came out they were big and juicy. It was like opening up a can that was just shaken and having it spill all over you but in a good way. Let’s talk about that storyline. Who doesn’t like a story involving a missing child? Missing children are very interesting to since they usually don’t run off by themself. They are taken by someone and you have to try and find them quickly or they might disappear forever. My favorite part of this book was the ending. It had so many twists and turns. I never knew what direction i was going in. That’s what makes a great book to me. If the ending shocks me then that book is a winner in my eyes. This is exactly how I felt about this book.

Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Chilling read!

Clear your schedule because you are not going to be able to put this one down. This is a hard review to write because I don’t want to give anything away but…you will think you have it all figured out then something or someone changes and you go whirling on to the next twist and the next. This is a 5 Star domestic thriller!

Amber and George are discovering that life with a new baby can be grueling. Now that Mabel is 7 months old, Amber’s sister Ruby offers to babysit to give them a weekend away. George books a night at a 5 star hotel and spirits Amber, who is mired in postpartum depression, away for the night. Ruby, babysitting without her partner Lewis, is her usual disorganized self. She takes Mabel to the park but doesn’t notice that she is being watched. The next weekend George has a business trip and Amber makes a sudden decision to go on a yoga retreat. Ruby is again called to babysit. The next morning, Mabel is gone.

The story is told in three voices: Amber, Ruby and the stalker. They follow the police investigation, the intrusive press attention and their reactions as secrets they thought were hidden come to light. Amber and Ruby are very sympathetic characters and you feel the desperation as they try to help the police and avoid becoming suspects themselves. When you finally discover what happened and why, you’ll see how Jess Ryder skillfully dropped hints throughout the story. The Night Away is a chilling, satisfying read. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Jess Ryder for this ARC.
