An unlucky locker...
Luke is way too superstitious. For luck, he not only carries around a rabbit’s foot, but he also has a lucky shirt that he wears most of the time. He’s not happy at the beginning of the school year when he discovers he has been assigned locker 13. Could Luke have any worse luck than to end up with such an unlucky locker? He doesn’t think so. But he couldn’t be more wrong! The mysterious object he finds inside the locker causes nothing but good things to happen to him—for awhile. It’s surprising that such a creepy-looking charm could turn Luke’s luck around so completely, but it happens! Unfortunately, he is about to meet an even creepier character, a supernatural entity that looks like it could be the grim reaper’s worst nightmare! It reveals that it gave the charm its power, meaning that Luke wouldn’t gotten so lucky after he found the charm without a little help from the creature. Now it wants the charm back. When Luke refuses, his luck changes from good... to disastrous! What will Luke do? Will the situation improve if he gives the charm to the creature, known as the “fate master?” Will it just make matters worse? In this fun and frightful story, R.L. Stine teaches us the importance of making our own luck rather than relying on superstition. My one misfortune is that this is the only Nightmare Room book I’ve read, despite buying it from a thrift store years ago! I’ve watched a few episodes of the television series on YouTube, and I used to own one of the VHS releases of episodes of the series, one called Camp Nowhere. I love all of these stories, and I’ve wanted to read most of the other books for years! I hate knowing that they are so hard to find unless you buy them online, or buy the ebooks, neither of which is something I want to do because buying them online is complicated, and I prefer to read paperback books, not ebooks. Enough of my bellyaching, though! For Stine’s fans who like this series, I highly recommend this book! Out of all of the books he’s written for kids, this is the creepiest one I’ve read! With October arriving soon, this would be a great nightmare to read in celebration of the spookiest holiday of the fall season!🎃🧟♀️🧟♂️👻🦇💀
