Publisher Description
“The Nine: Briefing From Deep Space” (originally titled “Briefing For a Landing on Planet Earth”) tells the story of a group of inter-dimensional beings called "The Nine" who are trying to save the planet. This spiritual, religious, and new age geopolitical tale includes seemingly outlandish accounts of extraterrestrial civilizations such as Hoova from which the “chosen” descendants of Abraham originate, and Israel being a microcosm of our planet, which in turn is a microcosm of the universe.
The protagonists are Andrija Puharich, a scientist, Phyllis Schlemmer, a medium and Sir John Whitmore, the funder of their activities. During the 1970s, other notable individuals like Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek and Lyle Watson, author of Supernature were also involved with the group.
The premise of the story is that Earth is on the brink of catastrophe, and before that happens, other civilizations will come to help. However, despite the anticipation, no landing of extraterrestrial beings has occurred yet, leading to accusations that the group was a CIA plot or a hoax orchestrated by individuals referred to by Colin Wilson as “crooks and conmen of the Spirit World.” Certainly, as with any drama there’s an antagonist, which in this case are known as The Opposition, negatives forces outside this dimension capable of influencing us all.
Puharich's encounter with The Nine began at a party where an Indian named Dr. Vinod went into a trance and allowed the beings to introduce themselves. Puharich later discovered Uri Geller who was working as a nightclub entertainer in Israel, and having concluded that he had remarkable psychic abilities, took to California where he became a subject of a CIA/DOD-funded remote viewing program.
The book explores various claims made by the group, including their communication and interaction with extraterrestrial intelligences, the possibility of an alien landing on Earth, and the idea that ancient aliens may have visited our planet in the past, inspiring legends.
Whether considered fact or science fiction, “The Nine” presents an intriguing narrative, challenging readers to ponder the questions raised about the selected human minds averting disasters and the role of extraterrestrial intelligences in our evolution.
