Don’t edit without reading this first.
As a first time novelist I am aware that the art of writing is the art of re-writing. For me, writing the book was the easy part. The hard part was keeping the re-writes and editing straight. Kris gives a method to so you won’t descend into madness. Her metod for creating symbols for particular actions so that you can easily find them is worth 100 times what I paid for the book.For example, where I might be concerned about pace, I might choose the symbol ^ for each area of concern. This allows me to them mote each area and see the macro view of pacing and then easily find the places that I identify by typing ^ into the search function.
