The Odyssey

The Odyssey by Homer is one of the foundational works of Western literature, often paired with The Iliad to form the cornerstone of the ancient Greek epic tradition. It tells the story of Odysseus, the Greek hero who faces numerous challenges during his long journey home after the Trojan War, a journey that takes him ten years. While The Iliad focuses on the wrath of Achilles and the events of the Trojan War, The Odyssey is concerned with Odysseus's trials and his longing to return home to Ithaca, where his wife, Penelope, and son, Telemachus, await him.
