The Old Pacific Capital

"The old pacific capital" (1882) is an account of a journey undertaken by Robert Louis Stevenson in Monterey, Mexico, in 1880. The work is written in the form of essay and in the first part describes in detail the flora and vegetation of the area, considered very impressive by the Scottish writer. In the second part, Stevenson research embarks on a historic source of Monterey, until arriving at its founding and populations that have inhabited over time.
