How far would you go to find The One?
A simple DNA test is all it takes. Just a quick mouth swab and soon you’ll be matched with your perfect partner—the one you’re genetically made for.
That’s the promise made by Match Your DNA. A decade ago, the company announced that they had found the gene that pairs each of us with our soul mate. Since then, millions of people around the world have been matched. But the discovery has its downsides: test results have led to the breakup of countless relationships and upended the traditional ideas of dating, romance and love.
Now five very different people have received the notification that they’ve been “Matched.” They’re each about to meet their one true love. But “happily ever after” isn’t guaranteed for everyone. Because even soul mates have secrets. And some are more shocking than others…
The nationally bestselling first book in the Dark Future series, The One is a fascinating novel that shows how even the simplest discoveries can have complicated consequences.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
This muddled mix of thriller and romance from British author Marrs (The Good Samaritan) takes dating apps to a new level. Match Your DNA, "based on biology, chemicals and science," uses computer power to identify the one person who is meant to be the life partner of each subscriber. The narrative shifts among five people who encounter various difficulties along the road to true love. Christopher, a serial killer who stalks single women in London, is matched with Amy, a police officer. Office worker Mandy's destined partner is across the world in Australia. Jade, a recent university grad working as a receptionist, finds that hers has died. Computer exec Ellie gets someone whose description "accounted for almost half the men in the Western world." Soon-to-be-wed heterosexual Nick discovers that his match is a man. After the introductions, many of the individual stories drag. What links the five, who never meet, is a big reveal at the end that will surprise few readers.

Interesting!
I normally don’t read this type of book. However the storyline is unique and kept me interested. There were so many twists and turns … well worth the read. I never guessed the end result for each couple!
Great Fun
As a huge fan of dystopian futurescapes, this book was fast-paced and intriguing from the start.
While normally six main characters would be difficult to juggle, I found each story easy to separate and difficult to guess. I appreciated the breaks in each character story to allow the reader to digest all of the sodid details in each tale.
I look forward to reading the next book in this series and wonder if I’ll read it just as quickly.
Not much depth but a great time all around.

I’m happy it’s over. Don’t think I’d recommend.
