The Other Side of the Looking Glass

Birthdays have never been something Nora Terre marks on her calendar. After her memorable sixth birthday when she first discovered she can World Walk between the Forty-Two Realms, they've all been downhill since. On her twelfth birthday, for example, her mother died in a car crash, and her father, overcome by grief, destroyed Nora's last connection to her family legacy before slowly disappearing from her life. 

As another dreaded birthday approaches, her father's demons start to search for her, and a betrayal from a friend leads her back to a Realm she thought she had left behind forever. Trying to make up for the years spent trapped in the Twelfth Realm, she must learn on the fly, and stay under the radar of those who would destroy everything about World Walking they can find. 

Still a novice at World Walking, Nora must rely on her cantankerous cousin, Cameron, to avoid the pitfalls that surround them. Joined by a street-wise friend she abandoned six years before and the overly inquisitive daughter of her father's adversary, the cousins set off into a world unlike any they have ever known. As they journey deeper into the Thirty-Ninth Realm in pursuit of Nora's grandmother, they must rely on their wits, questionable alliances, and a fair amount of luck to survive. Through it all, the demons that haunt Nora are never far behind, and she must make a choice about her own fate that she can never return from.
