Publisher Description
A certain Mrs. Davis dies suddenly in a boarding house. Her death is not remarkable, but the list of people’s names that she shared with a priest before dying turns out to be very interesting indeed. This list includes the names of some people who have recently died of natural causes, or was it? When the priest is found murdered, the police are confounded by how it all ties together.
Customer Reviews
A jolly good read with typical Agatha Christie style
It’s Agatha Christie with a few twists in theme. Read it if you enjoy her books but don’t get hung up on the merits of the work. It’s fun, clever in her way, with some insight into the period, the 1960s. Then watch the TV version. But note, this inexpensive eBook may not be genuine, there’s no copyright page and line breaks, particularly with dialogue, are inserted haphazardly. It’s still understandable to read.
Good novel — terrible formatting
This is a very enjoyable Christie story, but the paragraph formatting in this particular edition is so consistently wrong as to make the book practically unreadable. Dialogue switches between characters mid-paragraph, and new paragraphs are started for no apparent reason. This happens constantly throughout the book, it isn’t just the occasional isolated error. I strongly advise looking for an alternative and hopefully less infuriating edition!
