Millions of readers have fallen in love with Ava's bestselling books...come join the family.

International Bestselling Author Ava Miles presents a fun and heartwarming story about finding happily ever after...in a dog park.

Jane Wilcox has a secret. She's been the incognito poker scout to a rock star poker player dressed as a smoking hot poker babe. Now that role is over, and she's living in small town Dare Valley, working as a dog walker--or so everyone thinks. Without her Jimmy Choo heels and Prada gowns, she's trying to find her new sexy Inner Swan and a fairytale romance, but she's afraid she might have turned back into "Plain Jane" until she meets Matt Hale in the dog park.

The sexy lawyer has a rambunctious dog that needs her Dog Whisperer skills and slowly they move from friends to lovers. Matt is one of the good guys, a hero, totally boy-next-door material. He's returned to his hometown after experiencing a tragedy. He was unable to find justice for the woman in his last legal case, and now she's passed away and given him her dog. He's vowed to give Henry a good home and right the wrongs in the system, so he's running for mayor of Dare Valley.

Jane and Matt fall in love during sunset walks in the dog park, but soon Jane's secret past comes back to haunt her and harms Matt's bid for mayor. Can Jane and Matt's love survive the controversy?

Great story, better editing needed

Thoroughly enjoyed returning to Dare Valley and becoming reacquainted with characters from previous books. The storyline for this book is fun and entertaining though better continuity editing would have made the book more enjoyable. And anyone who has ever played Bingo (and isn't that everyone?!) is going to be really irritated at that scene for the very obvious and annoying errors there. Those kinds of errors truly detract from my ability to enjoy a book as it appears that either the author or the editor just didn't care enough to get it right.

Another amazing book

I have loved all of Ava Miles Dare Valley books and this one is no exception.
I should first say I love is that this book started off so differently than the others. When you start this book you immediately know the ending but not how it happened which for me was such a nice twist. I love learning the Rhett Butler Blaylock and Abbie Maven have a baby girl together. The story starts with Rhett telling their daughter all about how he convinced her mama to be with him. They are very different people, Rhett a famous poker player who dresses on the wild side with a big personality, while Abbie is a prime and proper lady. It takes a strong and special woman to be able to tame and deal with Rhett as he is very bit a celebrity- loves to party, always has two poker babes hanging around him. Rhett has been both friends and competitor of Mac Maven for some time. When first met Mac’s sister, Abbie, he was floored by her, the proper lady who would not give him the time of day because of his wild man ways and everything she has heard about him. This isn’t who he really is but the public eats it up. Not only was Abbie off limits because he was his friend’s sister, she was way too good for him, or so he thought.

Abbie Maven is a single mom with a teenage son who she is raising with the help of her brother. Abbie has been hurt, badly, and has kept it buried deep. Rhett is the only man she has ever really felt an attraction to but they were friends for years before they finally admitted their feelings for each other.
They strike a bargain: a secret relationship on her terms. Behind closed doors, everything is perfect. But his poker persona as a bad boy undermines everything she’s raising her son to believe in. Things start out great but obviously when you are only together behind closed doors things eventually must end or change.

I rarely read contemporary romance, but Ms. Miles is quickly changing that!

I rarely read contemporary romance, but Ms. Miles is quickly changing that!

This book is about Jane, a dog-walker who is new to Dare Valley and is hiding a big secret about her past; and Matt, a former big-city lawyer who moved back to his slower-paced hometown after a heartbreaking case. They meet while walking their dogs in the same park, and quickly discover the desire to spend more time together.

As they get to know each other, Jane discovers that Matt is running for Mayor of their town...and she loathes politicians after being raised by one. Matt finds that he has a hard time learning anything about Jane's past, as she is very tight-lipped about it. They go through a lot of ups and downs while trying get on the same path, accompanied by three adorable dogs.

The book is laced with humor...I was laughing out loud in many parts, and read almost the entire book with a smile on my face! This is the first book that I have read by Ava Miles, and it certainly won't be the last! I look forward to going back to read her previous books, and anxiously await her next ones.

There are some passages that are confusing (it is hard to determine which character is speaking/being referred to in places), and some inaccurate information (the Knights of Columbus have a "Tootsie Roll Drive" each year, but the money does not go to the Council, all proceeds go to benefit people with intellectual disabilities). However, the book is otherwise well-written and the characters very engaging. I highly recommend this book!!!!
