There are far too many interpretations of Christ’s Olivet Discourse and the book of Revelation. Every one save the preterist view, reaches beyond reason to apply prophecy to our current generation. Russell gives us the sobering truth that the Parousia was predicted by Christ and played out in history exactly as he promised. That truth does not take away our hope however. The Parousia merely ended the Jewish economy and ushered in the Kingdom of God.
