Really informative!
Read the book back in high school for a UIL Social Studies competition but didn’t read it all the way. I got to around about the chapter on Iberians and Native Americans; making time to study for a competition was somewhat difficult with a full schedule. I think I was able to get fourth place just because I knew enough about Che Guevara which who what the tiebreaker essay question was asking about and who I recently then watched a documentary about in English class. Now having read the whole book, I now feel more connected to my heritage (I’m Latino) and, yeah, if I was in that competition again, I would have probably made it to the top 3 and moved on in the competition!
