Publisher Description
For writer Jade Yeo, the Roaring Twenties are coming in with more of a purr--until she pillories London's best-known author in a scathing review. Sebastian Hardie is tall, dark and handsome, and more intrigued than annoyed. But if Jade succumbs to temptation, she risks losing her hard-won freedom--and her best chance for love.
Customer Reviews
Just delightful
Zen Cho is one of my favorite writers to start with, and this (short novel, novella,?) is a delightful confection of perceptions of post WWI England by a young, bright, talented, and very determined Malaysian Chinese girl. “Jade” is the name she chooses for herself when English people have trouble pronouncing her real name, as she navigates the literary society of London in 1920.
Jade is a woman with plans for her life, plans which her parents would find distressing if not scandalous. But she is determined to live the life she wants, and if she can survive having written a highly critical review of a well-received writer’s latest book, she just might get what she wants.
