Fans of Scandal’s Olivia Pope and House of Cards will love Grace Colton...

U.S. Congresswoman Grace Colton is the most famous woman in politics—and the loneliest—until a drawling, sexy stranger offers her one night: no strings and no regrets. And it rocks her world.

Grace wakes to an empty hotel room and a phone call. The dark horse for the 2016 presidential election, Senator Shep Conover, is considering her as his vice presidential running mate.

Before she can be selected, Grace must be vetted and coached by Shep’s political consultant, Jared Rankin, who already knows too many intimate details about her. He’s Mr. One-Night Stand.

Grace is torn: play nice with Jared to join the senator’s ticket, or play hardball and back the slick frontrunner? As the Democratic National Convention approaches, Grace isn’t assured of being the running mate. She must decide where her loyalties lie and if she can trust Jared with her future—and her heart.

I'm hooked....read it and find out why

What can I say. I had this books for a couple of months, but hate cliffhangers and knew this book had one, but giving you the first chapter of book 2. So I waited till I could read them both.
Needless to say I so loved it I read it in a day and am going straight to book 2.
If you like a political scandal with some HOT kink in it. This is the book for you. But it has sooo much more
I highly recommend reading it yourself

Review: Grace Colton #1: The Phoenix Candidate

The Phoenix Candidate by Heidi Joy Tretheway is the first book in her Grace Colton series. It is a HEA for now type story. The next book will focus again on Grace and Jared but this did not end on a cliffhanger.

A political romance that deals with issues of integrity, values, and love in addition to bigger issues like gun-control, revenge porn and more.

Grace Colton is a congresswoman for Oregon and lost her husband and sun to random gun violence five years ago.

Jared Rankin is a man at a bar, a one-night-stand, or at least that what Grace thought until she met with a presidential candidate the next day and he was there as the consultant.

Things go from awkward to angry in no time and if they (Grace & Jared) aren't fighting they're tearing each others clothes off.

Grace has an important choice to make and she needs to decide who to trust.

Will she make the right choice for the sake of her career, her personal life or both?

Loved this book. I also love that Heidi Joy Tretheway is still subtly bringing revenge porn into public awareness. The more people are aware of the damage it causes and lives it ruins the more people there are to help make and keep legislation against it.

Sexy, Exciting and Compelling!

Politics has never been so sexy!! I LOVED this book. Grace is smart, strong-willed, and determined to make a difference. And what's more—she's not afraid to embrace her sensuality and take a hot man back to her hotel room for what has become one of my new favorite scenes (*fans self*). When her political capital starts heating up and she's given the unofficial nod to become a potential candidate for VP, Grace's life takes a new and exciting turn. There's only one slight snag—the consultant for the presidential candidate? He's the guy who she'd never expected to see again once she'd walked away from that one-night stand. Cue fireworks.

Politics, intrigue, and HOT, HOT sexy times combine perfectly to make The Phoenix Candidate an exciting, unique, and fabulously fun ride. Highly recommend.
