Great Mystery
Dela has been asked to do a security check at a friend's casino on the Oregon Coast. Shortly after she gets started a child gets kidnapped. Special Agent Quinn Pierce called in to help and he has been after the child's father for some time. Dela runs into a friend from her Army days they catch up for a short time and make plans for the next day. The next day Dela finds her dead in her hotel room. Dela called her friend to help her untangle the lies, and solve the kidnapping and murder.
This is a great series and this book was not a disappointment. Dela is my favorite character. Her character is strong, smart, relatable, and a survivor. This book takes place outside of the Spotted Pony Casino and the Umatilla Reservation. Since Dela is traveling I did miss some of the regular secondary characters in the series, having said that I found a new secondary character in this book that I like and that reminds me of Dela her name is Sidney. The mystery is well-crafted and moves at a swift pace. There are plenty of well-placed red herrings to keep you in suspense about who is behind the murder and the kidnapping. I am looking forward to more of this series.
