The Plateau

International photographer Nicolas Ruel has produced a number of series in which he explored, with great structural acumen, figures of architecture, industry and light. He has photographed cities in over fifty countries, but Montréal is his city. Here he offers us a special insight into the neighbourhood that has been his home for nearly twenty years.


There are three walks to choose from, depending on whether you have a few hours or a whole day, but all let you experience the urban effervescence that is so characteristic of the Plateau-Mont-Royal area. For each circuit the author includes a park to find nature in the city, a place to enjoy art, and a favourite restaurant.
