A WALL STREET JOURNAL AND FINANCIAL TIMES BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR

In The Power of Habit, award-winning business reporter Charles Duhigg takes us to the thrilling edge of scientific discoveries that explain why habits exist and how they can be changed. Distilling vast amounts of information into engrossing narratives that take us from the boardrooms of Procter & Gamble to the sidelines of the NFL to the front lines of the civil rights movement, Duhigg presents a whole new understanding of human nature and its potential. At its core, The Power of Habit contains an exhilarating argument: The key to exercising regularly, losing weight, being more productive, and achieving success is understanding how habits work. As Duhigg shows, by harnessing this new science, we can transform our businesses, our communities, and our lives.

Good read

The book does a good job of articulating why habits form and remain with us. I was curious to find out a little more about how to apply the information and that was lacking. However, it does provide good insight.

Chapters are truncated in online edition

This is a really good book; however I am a little disappointed. I am on Chapter 6 and have found 3 replaces where they have truncated and/or duplicated a paragraphs (check out the end of the Starbucks chapter as one example).

I checked the book out from the library to follow the missing parts of the book, why buy it twice? Apple you upload a new copy out for download - the story is relevant and worth reading.

Missing pages

Book is fascinating but the end of each chapter there are missing pages. Instead of the final pages of the chapter it repeats one page several times, which is annoying. You would think that if the publishers are charging $12 for a digital version of the book that they could get it right.
