The Presidents of The United States of America
My basic premise is that one’s own commitment of self-exploration will indeed create new potentials for a choice. Change is inevitable, however; change is something most of us are less than comfortable handling when it occurs. We prefer the known quantity to the unknown. Change is what the political process is all about.
As government leaders, these United States Presidents reflected on the past, determined where we are at the present and anticipated the future. They had and have a keen sense of where we as Americans have come. These past Presidents and now future leaders of this free world must do more than learn from experience; they must actively use that knowledge, otherwise they will just repeat the mistakes of the past.
These Presidents attempted to adopt policies that provide an opportunity for a secure future for those less fortunate.
I shall be governed by their will on all subjects upon which I have the means of knowing what their will is; and upon all others I shall do what my own judgment teaches me will best advance their interests.
