At the end of the story, the identities of the two were changed back. Because of his kindness, Tom received the asylum of Edward, who had become a king, after he became a commoner again, and he also won the admiration and respect of everyone. The novel takes the Tom’s life experience in the palace and Prince Edward’s wandering life as two clues. As a whole, the novel has the characteristics of the tramp novel that Mark Twain is enthusiastic about.
