From Amanda Lovelace, a poetry collection in four parts: the princess, the damsel, the queen, and you. The first three sections piece together the life of the author while the final section serves as a note to the reader. This moving book explores love, loss, grief, healing, empowerment, and inspiration.
the princess saves herself in this one is the first book in the "women are some kind of magic" series.
A very quick read. I think I read it in an hour. It’s easy to follow the story. The poems are very touching and relatable. I’m recommending this book to my book lovers and checking out her others!
The Princess Saves Herself
This poetry book made me cry.
Blunt but pure
Thoroughly enjoyed Lovelace’s analogy to fairytale.
I love the idea of what a modern princess should be. She is in charge of her own destiny; she is the ruler of her own fate. It’s wonderful how one can take loss and mold it into something greater.
