Publisher Description

Luke Price and Violet Hayes haven’t seen each other in a couple of months, not since they discovered Luke’s mother’s connection to Violet’s parent’s murders. But when Luke gets into some gambling trouble with the wrong people, destiny decides to throw the two of them together and they head out to Vegas to try and settle Luke’s debt.

As Violet spends time with Luke, she becomes torn on whether she should be with him. She definitely can’t deny that her life is better when she’s with Luke and she starts to wonder if going back to Preston was a mistake.

Things seem to be going well as Violet opens up more to Luke, but then she gets a call from the detective, not only to give an update on Mira Price and the case, but to give information about some threatening texts she’s been getting. The information is not only shocking, but makes Violet question what kind of people her parents really were and whether she’ll be able to trust anyone ever again.

I WANT ANOTHER

I enjoyed reading this book as much as the first one about violet and Luke. But I don't like how it just ended. I hope there is one more follow up book to really tie the series in together. But overall I think this is a great read!

Annmric8 ,

Part of a series that could easily have been a standalone.

A story with people making bad choices that leads to a regretful life. How many times are authors going to conjure up the sad stories about losing your parents or your parents being a bad influence?
Each time I read those dreaded words foster home I cringe. Why! Because an author is going to paint an ugly picture of those foster parents and the trauma induced child taken under their care.
When will authors stop trying to fix damaged people with love. Love should not be the solution. A person should fix themselves first before dragging love into the equation.
The only issue keeping Violet and Luke apart is Violet herself. Having trouble feeling compassion for her when she keeps making poor choices for herself. She did nothing wrong to warrant the choices she is making. Someone else made bad choices and for that she punishes herself.
Luke's got a bag full of bad vices. Drinking, gambling, and cheating.
Jessica has a lot of books under her belt and she has a knack for writing series. So it's no surprise that this too is book four in the series. This could easily be one book if you remove the rambling and fillers and get straight to the point. I think there were too many layers woven together to encompass a storyline. Those additional layers distracted from the story and brought about too much drama and a heavy pressure that the characters had a hard time sorting.
