The second book in New York Times bestselling author, Donna’s Grant’s thrilling Sons of Texas series!
When his aunt and uncle are murdered and his father has been kidnapped, bad boy Marine Force Recon captain, Cullen Loughman teams up with the one woman who turns his world upside down.
Everything’s hotter in Texas…
When Marine Force Recon captain Cullen Loughman learns that his father’s been kidnapped, he will do whatever it takes to find him. In order to achieve his mission, Cullen will need to team up with the best of the best, someone who just happens to be the most stunning woman he’s ever laid eyes on…
This isn’t the first rodeo for ex-Air Force pilot Mia Carter. Still, Cullen’s bad-boy good looks and charm are distracting her from duty. . .and it appears that the feeling is mutual.
As Mia and Cullen make their descent into a dark, dangerous world, their attraction reaches the boiling point. But is their desire worth the risk when a ruthless enemy is waiting in the wings, or will their Lone Star love conquer all in The Protector?
The Protector “…combines danger and desire in an intoxicating mix.” (Publishers Weekly, starred review).
Don’t miss these other books in the series:
Book #1: The Hero
Book #3: The Legend
The second in Grant's Sons of Texas trilogy (after The Hero) combines danger and desire in an intoxicating mix. After Orrin Loughman is kidnapped by the Russians for stealing a bioweapon, his three sons join the woman who sees him as a father in a desperate search to find Orrin before it's too late. Plucky rich girl Mia Carter joined the Air Force and then left to become a pilot for hire because she hated following pesky rules. As she and one of Orrin's sons, Marine Force Recon Capt. Cullen Loughman, fight desperately to find him, they soon uncover the Saints, an international crime syndicate whose members include people Mia and Cullen thought were on the side of good. They have no idea whom to trust as they race the clock. Grant's dizzying mix of danger and romance dazzles as Cullen and Mia overcome several nearly fatal encounters, including a Jeep accident off a mountain road. She increases the book's appeal by creating a well-drawn couple with off-the-charts chemistry and a breath-stealing plot that ends on a cliff-hanger which will make readers desperate for book three.

Loved it! Second book in the series, left you with more questions than before! The chemistry between Mia and Cullen is sizzling!
I loved this story. These O'Malley's are a great family and watching them lose their hearts is so much fun. Emma is a bit of a wild girl but she's determined to change her ways. Starting a new job as a kindergarten teacher is her first step. Her second - swearing off bad boys. Then the motorcycle riding Sean O'Malley swaggers into her life like a white knight and she decides one last sip of a bad boy wouldn't be so bad. One last fling before the school year starts but will walking away be easy for either of them???
Lots of good relaxing fun with this one. I highly recommend it.
The Protector is book two in a continued story. I have not read book one but was not lost, however a lot happened in this book to further the overall story so I do not think you could read book 3 as a standalone. Each book is focused on one of the Loughman brothers but there is an overall big picture going on involving the government and a shadow organization. This is heavy on the suspense and so full of action that you will not be bored. I do wish the romance part of the story was more. I cared more about the conspiracy than I did about Mia and Cullen. I do prefer a stronger connection with the MC's but I can't fault the suspense. There is violence but no rape in book 2. The next book will focus on Wyatt, the oldest brother.
