The Pumpkin Patch Bargain

Piper Bennett is twenty-six and one bad grid from losing her autumn sponsor. Mercer Patch still charges by the pound and does not care about her camera.
Cal Mercer is forty. He is short a hired hand and he does not want a caption. He will let her film the honest work if she lifts what he tells her to lift from sunup to close.

He names the rest of the payment in plain speech. She can leave down the farm road. Nobody will chase her.
She stays. The camera sits on a crate and does not get to lie.
