Publisher Description
What do a Black American soldier, invalided out at Yorktown, and a white British officer who deserted his post have in common? Quite a bit, actually.
• They attempted to kill each other the first time they met.
• They're liable to try again at some point in the five-hundred mile journey that they're inexplicably sharing.
• They are not falling in love with each other.
• They are not falling in love with each other.
• They are… Oh, no.
The Pursuit Of… is a love affair between two men and the Declaration of Independence. It’s a novella of around 38,000 words.

Quite enjoyable!
A lovely quick read of a story showing that friendship and love can be found in even the most unconventional locations with the most unlikely personalities. What I love most about all of Courtney Milan’s books is the witty dialog and banter her characters have. It’s not stiff and stilted, instead she throws us into the scene as if we too are sitting in the same room as casual observers. This book is completely worth the afternoon you will spend on a rainy day, out by the pool, or waiting in a car line.
Our Past Evolves
John and Henry’s is the story of an odd couple in American history. This book is fiction, but it is steeped in the realities of our nation’s birth and early years. The companionship of John and Henry is unusual mainly on the basis of race. There are dangers in this budding friendship, sometimes needing some not-so-truthful stories to assist. As their initial travels approach the end, the reader can’t help but fear the beginning of the end of their friendship with Henry returning to England. The letter writing seems to keep their friendship alive until the final chapter… no spoilers. If you enjoy some history as you meet these two amazing characters, and if you are willing to accept that society had a lot of evolving to do, you will be comfortable and see how our past can be the foundation for continuous social evolution. Being uncomfortable about parts of our past is a good start for working for a better future. Good read!!
