The Pathetic One.
That's what this book should be called. The heroine is the wimpiest and weakest character I've ever read about. She cried about everything. At one point she states that her life is ending as she knows it because she is invited to a ball, and then she falls into depression because the music in her home is too loud. Another time she is utterly devastated because she can't recognize a bird call she hears. I think giving the excuse that Anne is "quiet natured" is very liberal, this girl obviously has major medical issues that need immediate attention. How a guy could fall in love with her is beyond me. And the writing is atrocious. The author uses words like "horrific" and "atrocious" to describe the most mundane things. Did they want us to laugh or take the situation seriously? Because I laughed. Do not waste your time on this book, this author needs help.
