The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching. Recognized as the greatest literary masterpiece in Arabic, it has nevertheless remained difficult to understand in its English translations. This new translation is written in a contemporary idiom that remains faithful to the original, making it easy to read while retaining
its powers of eloquence.
There were a few spots that I disagreed with the translator's choice of words. But overall, amazing work. The summary at the beginning of each surah was helpful. Remember, this is a translation, not the actual Qur'an so if something seems confusing/strange, research the history, alternative translations, etc.
Easy to read, no Arabic text
Assalam U Alaykum, I just bought the book as I was told the translation is easy read for kids. Reading sura Fatiha and some parts of sura Baqarah (The Cow) I will agree. However I was disappointed to see translation without the Arabic text. Now I need to find my kids response.
