She forgot she loved him.
He would die to make her remember.
Meg Foxcroft has never minded the tattling village gossip or her uncle’s ill-tempered rebukes. After all, she has Tom McGwen—and one day, they will build their own cottage, paint it red, and live a wonderful life.
But then the unthinkable happens. Meg is attacked, her uncle’s apothecary shop goes up in flames, and when she wakes up in the arms of an eloquent lord, she remembers nothing. Not even her own name.
In a frantic race against time, Tom plunges into dangerous water, bent on sheltering Meg from harm and discovering who wants her dead. Even if she despises him. Even if it’s now the handsome lord she casts her smile upon.
As danger swells and truth comes crashing around them, Meg must confront the past and decide who she trusts—and loves—before the enemy makes the final strike.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
A young woman in 19th-century England grapples with memory loss in this riveting historical from Linder (When Tomorrow Came). Meg Foxcroft has just decided to marry longtime beau Tom McGwen when strangers break into her uncle's apothecary and attack her, causing injuries that erase all her memories. She's rescued by Benedict Cunningham, a wealthy lord who invites her to recover at his sprawling estate. A brokenhearted Tom finally tracks her down, but Meg wants nothing to do with the apparent stranger. Her new high-society life isn't all it's cracked up to be, however, and when she becomes the target of several more attacks she seeks comfort in Tom. The more she gets to know her even-keeled ex, the more she understands why she'd been drawn to him in the first place, but with evidence emerging that Meg is entangled in a much-larger conspiracy, they'll need to draw on their faith to protect themselves while planning a future together. Linder weaves a taut mystery into a sizzling romance, and brings Meg's sense of disorientation to life with vivid prose (following the attack, she feels "empty, hollow, like a book ripped of all its pages"). This addictive Regency romance has thrills to spare.

Captivating Historical Romance
I loved this fast-paced Regency Era read that took me on an emotional roller coaster ride! The story features an ingeniously plotted mystery, that kept me guessing to the unpredictable end, crafted with masterful storytelling skill. The mystery centers around repeated attempts on Meg Foxcroft's life, with no apparent motive, and reveals long hidden secrets and lies. From the opening scenes, I could feel Tom and Meg's special relationship that went from happy to heart-rending after Meg suffered an attack that left her with amnesia. I fell in love with these two from the get-go, and their story, with its twists and surprises, held me captive for its entirety. Memorable supporting characters add emotional depth and intrigue to the story. Tom's beautifully written faith journey from doubt to surrender brought tears to my eyes. I totally enjoyed this engaging, compelling read and highly recommend it.
