A Bad Ending
Edith Wharton wrote another beautiful story about a long ago time period. I really enjoyed the plot, the setting and the character development. I found it hard to put the book down even though I am on vacation. After reading through the whole book I was naturally disappointed with the strange ending. Did the author grow tired of the story? Did she die leaving the work incomplete?
I felt somehow invested in the story and I felt cheated with the ridiculous ending.
Honestly, I am not sure I can recommend this book due to the subpar ending. Strangely, I probably would have given this five stars, had the ending been even mediocre.
