The Refresh Button

America's schools are broken and the problem is actually worse than you often hear.  You hear about our sub-par test scores and the "achievement gap" from people with power and money and think that this must be the biggest problem we face.  It's not.  And our efforts to solve this problem have led schools to value test scores more than learning.  Student passion, inquiry, and curiosity are casualties.  Students don't know they matter.  Students have no voice.  Students don't learn the qualities they need for the rapidly changing world.  The teaching profession is a shell of what it should be. Our whole system is out of whack.  "The Refresh Button" explores these crucial issues and seeks to be an ignitor for meaningful educational change.
